SCOTLAND

The Scottish Highlands

Scotland has been on our bucket  list since One Yoga Global started. Specifically, the dream of  a retreat to the Highlands of the North.  Fluffy highland cows and sprawling hills … valleys, lochs (lakes), bagpipes and magic. The history and landscapes that inspired Outlander, Highlander and Braveheart.

This can be no ordinary retreat space. And for 2025 we have secured the most spectacular property and are offering the retreat adventure experience of a lifetime.

Situated on 23,000 acres of Scottish Highland, our wilderness reserve and retreat home is truly unique.  Over  the last 20 years, this land has been re-wilded –  a  labor of love and selfless commitment.  A million trees have been planted, damaged peatlands repaired, and native species re-introduced including the native red squirrel. Free roaming highland cows, red deer and more are restoring balance on the land. The Scottish wildcat, on the brink of extinction, has gone from a believed 50 to a current 150+, in part because of the enclosures on the reserve in partnership with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland to safely breed and bolster the population, releasing these special lions of the Highland back into their natural habitat.

The dramatic glens, colorful hills, glistening rivers, many hill lochs, and wild nature will capture your heart.

These are just a few reasons we’ve forged a partnership with Alladale reserve to offer retreats that include exclusive stays on the property, educational drives, ranger guided hikes and more.  We’ll have the main lodge along with 2 additional houses to host up to 18 total per week. We’re planning a full day educational outing to coastal North Scotland villages for each group and we’re even looking into arranging a Celtic band one night as a surprise. (not much of a surprise now!).  On property are opportunities to take a cold dip in one of the locks, trout fishing (if this interests you), mountain (or electric) bike riding, and time to soak up our surroundings.

With a commitment to invite and attract conscious travelers who bring a sense of mindfulness and giving back to the land (rather than a consumer mindset), our hosts have built a yoga shala for us to practice each morning  in preparation for the privilege of appreciating this spectacular land and conservation project.

We hope you’ll join us in September, 2025.  Please CLICK HERE to let us know if you’d like to be on the invite list.
