“Our vacation yoga retreat takes place with Jupiter in the ocean sign of Pisces and Venus conjoining Mercury in the spiritual sign of Sagittarius, ideal for fortunate travel to foreign lands. A perfect time for relaxation and transformation in the week before Winter Solstice!” – Mehtab
You are invited to join Mehtab and Laura (Guru Karam) Benton for a rejuvenating oceanfront retreat, tapping into the healing energies of the Pacific Ocean and Playa Chacala, a pristine and picturesque bay in the Riviera Nayarit, complete with golden sand, coconut trees and the tropical jungle.
We’ll practice yoga, meditation and deep relaxation; play and laugh together; inviting you to return home with insight and clarity, rested and revitalized. Receive the gifts of the sea and sun, good company and delicious food. Above all, be nourished by healing practices, fresh ocean air, and by the sound of the surf, which will lull you to sleep each night.
All the teachers on this retreat inspired us daily! I loved that we had the wonderful, invigorating morning classes with Tej and the more calming practices with Mehtab and Guru Karam in the afternoons. We all enjoyed having many hours to ourselves in the middle of the day. The gong and music always add an additional layer of meaning for me. Quite simply, all three teachers brought incredible healing and clarity for many of us on this retreat.

Mar de Jade’s beautiful surroundings and serene atmosphere make for a magnificent travel experience, allowing you to enjoy direct contact with nature. You’ll be situated at the foothills of a tropical jungle, nestled between the mountains and the warm shores of the Pacific Ocean. Wake up each morning to bird sounds and feel your biorhythms readjusting to the swish of gently lapping ocean waves.
Each day, meals are carefully and lovingly prepared from fresh produce provided by a local 17-acre organic farm. Meals are served buffet-style during specific meal hours including many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The kitchen makes chicken, fish, and seafood dishes, but no pork or beef, only sparingly purchasing ingredients that do not grow locally.
Your week will be an opportunity to unplug if you choose. Free wifi is available in the common areas, but not in the guest rooms.
Your retreat vacation includes your lodging, meals, unlimited sun and ocean, plus:
Twice daily yoga and meditation classes
Gong classes and workshops
Moon Sign Reading workshop
Gong Relaxations with Yoga Nidra
